Horus
Inspired by Horus, the ancient Egyptian god of kingship and the sky, this sculpture explores the tension between power and vulnerability.
The traditional falcon-headed deity is reimagined with the extraordinary wings of the African secretary bird. He possesses the means to soar, yet without arms much of ordinary human experience remains tantalisingly beyond his reach.
Horus occupies the space between strength and limitation, grandeur and absurdity — a contemporary interpretation of an ancient archetype.
