Paper Pangolin

The naturally articulated armour of the pangolin finds an unexpected affinity with the folded geometry of origami.

In Paper Pangolin, Claire Falconer reduces the animal to a series of angular planes, translating the apparent delicacy of folded paper into enduring bronze.

At just 11 cm long, it is an intimate sculptural object — a small celebration of one of Africa’s most extraordinary and increasingly precious creatures.
