Paper Elephant

Paper Elephant transforms the familiar form of one of Africa’s most iconic animals through the geometry of folded paper.

Part of Claire Falconer’s Bronze Origami series, the sculpture began with the visual language of origami — crisp folds, angular planes and an impression of extraordinary lightness. Translated into bronze, those qualities take on an unexpected permanence and weight.

Small in scale but sculptural in presence, Paper Elephant works beautifully as an object within a contemporary interior or as part of a collected grouping.
