Resurrection

Resurrection draws inspiration from the long-tailed widowbird, known in South Africa as the sakabula.

Each winter the male loses his extraordinary tail feathers, only to grow them again with the return of the season. In this cycle of loss and renewal, Seth Falconer finds the image of an African phoenix.

The sculpture captures that moment of re-emergence — when grief, change or hardship has stripped us back and we begin to rise again into our full strength.

Each piece is individually cast and finished by hand at our studio and foundry in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands. Please allow approximately 8–10 weeks from order to dispatch. Subtle variations in patina and finish are part of the character of each handmade work.
